da leao： Dele Alli played for an hour as Tottenham Hotspur suffered a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in the International Champions Cup on Thursday.
The England international was deployed as the furthest forward midfielder in a 4-1-2-1-2 formation, but struggled to make his mark against the 20-time English champions.
The 23-year-old has scored 53 goals and registered 49 assists in 184 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions.
Alli struggled to show his best form during the 2018-19 campaign, though, contributing just five Premier League goals during a tough season.
It is difficult to read too much into pre-season performances, particularly when considering that it will take time for players to get up to speed following a summer off.
The Tottenham fans were not best pleased with what they saw from Alli against United, though, whilst others have been disappointed with his pre-season form in general.

Youngsters like Troy Parrott have been earning praise from the Spurs supporters this summer, but the same cannot be said for Alli.
