da esport bet: Everton have certainly improved under Ronald Koeman, with the Merseyside outfit showing themselves to be contenders for European football this season, but there’s still a lot of work to be done if Goodison Park ever has the chance to witness Champions League football again.
da dobrowin: Koeman’s summer signing spree saw him bring the likes of Yannick Bolasie and Ashley Williams to the North West, both of whom have enjoyed success, and with a strong squad available, the Toffees gaffer now has the chance to dip into the market in January to fill a few areas.
Being Dutch himself, Koeman could certainly look at bringing a few of his fellow nationals to the club and it seems he has that idea in his mind, after he expressed his interest in saving Memphis Depay from his Manchester United nightmare.
Depay would be a shrewd investment from the former Southampton boss and if he wants an orange feel to Goodison Park, these five other players could complete his revolution.
Memphis Depay
The Dutch prodigy has endured a difficult time at Old Trafford after a £25m move from PSV Eindhoven last summer, losing his place under Louis Van Gaal to Jesse Lingard and being continuously overlooked by Jose Mourinho this season.
However, Depay still has an abundance of talent and the right guidance could see him fulfil his potential, with Koeman possessing the traits to nurture Depay into the superstar once heralded. It would be expensive and risky, but the potential benefits outweigh the dangers of Depay struggling at Goodison Park.
Tonny Vilhena
The 21-year-old is rated as one of the brightest young midfielders currently within Dutch football and is due to make the jump to one of Europe’s top leagues, as he’s excelled with current club Feyenoord in the Eredivisie.
Despite his tender age, Vilhena has already accumulated over 100 league appearances for Feyenoord since making his debut as a 17-year-old and is destined for big things. Aged only 18 when he got his first call-up to the Dutch national team, he made his debut at senior level this year and is expected to be a key part of the squad for the Russian World Cup in 2018.
Rick Karsdorp
Another Feyenoord talent, the 21-year-old right-back would provide strong competition to Seamus Coleman and would be an excellent replacement for the Irishman if he is lured to another Premier League side.
With two senior caps for the Dutch national side under his belt this year, Karsdorp has a wealth of experience at the top level, having also featured in the Champions League and accumulated an abundance of Eredivisie appearances.
Possessing plenty of raw talent, Koeman could craft this defender into a crucial part of his revolution.
Davy Klaassen
Moving across the Eredivisie to Dutch giants Ajax, Davy Klaassen has excelled since making his debut for the club in a 0-0 Champions League draw five years ago. Still just 23, he currently wears the armband for his club and has been a part of the national set-up for two years.
Winning Dutch Football of the Year for 2016 and lifting three Eredivisie titles with Ajax, Klaasen is set for a move out of Holland in the near future and could be a crucial part of Holland’s World Cup campaign in Russia.
Jetro Willems
The youngest player to ever play at the European Championships, having appeared for Holland at Euro 2012 when aged just 18, Jetro Willems has excelled with PSV Eindhoven to become a regular for club and country.
Accustomed to playing Champions League football, Willems would provide a wealth of experience and talent to Everton’s back-line and he’s still just 22-years-old. He’d be the ideal long-term replacement for ageing Toffees icon Leighton Baines.
Willems also set the record as the youngest player to appear in a UEFA competition when he featured against Hapoel Tel-Aviv in November 2011, aged just 17, and continues to excel.
Wesley Sneijder
A veteran option for Everton and Ronald Koeman is Dutch icon Wesley Sneijder. Regularly linked with a move to the Premier League during the prime years of his career, Sneijder would be a shrewd addition to the Toffees squad.
Possessing a winning mentality, a deadly shot and a keen eye for the a killer pass, Sneijder may not be a regular feature for Everton’s side but would improve the squad depth and be the perfect role-model for the younger players at Goodison Park.
The thought of Wesley Sneijder helping to see Ross Barkley reach his potential is certainly appealing for any England fan.
