Lisandro Martinez picked up a knee injury after a clash with West Ham's Vladimir Coufal which forced him to leave the pitch in the second half making way for Raphael Varane. On Monday, United released a statement to confirm that the Argentine has been ruled out of action for at least eight weeks but will not require surgery.

Right after the club's statement, Martinez shared a heartwarming message on X as he wrote, "I want to give a heartfelt thanks for the great support I've received and to reassure you that I'll soon be back out there, and we'll fight together. Always united!"

Earlier this season, the former Ajax defender spent almost four months on the sidelines after sustaining a foot injury in September. He had only returned to action on January 14 but is now facing more time on the sidlelines. The 26-year-old has appeared in only 10 games for the club this season across all competitions.
