da gbg bet: Aston Villa’s James Collins, Chris Herd and Fabian Delph have been involved in a nightclub fracas, a couple of days before their all-important penultimate Premier League fixture with Tottenham.
The players visited the Gatecrasher nightclub on Tuesday night, with Herd and Delph thrown out of the venue in an unsavoury manner, and Collins having an altercation with staff.
The Midlands club have released a statement confirming that the issue will be dealt with internally.
“The club dealt with this matter internally and the players have been disciplined, with the fines being split between two charities the club are promoting at the game against Spurs,” the statement reads, published in The Daily Mail.
The players have all come out and apologised for their actions, and know that they were in the wrong.
“I’m sorry for what has happened and I take responsibility for my actions,” Collins admitted.
“I won’t be fit again until pre-season and I thought that going out would not carry any consequences. I was sober and in control of my actions and I did try to calm down the situation,” Delph stated.
“It was nobody’s intention to get involved in any trouble but I realise that my actions on the night were not acceptable,” Herd confessed.
Villa are still not out of relegation trouble, as they sit in 15th place on 37 points, three ahead of the relegation zone.
