According to Sky Sports, Sampdoria will pay Leeds £5.8million up front, with another £400,000 in add-ons, making Vieira the first big money departure from Leeds this summer under new manager Marcelo Bielsa.
The deal offsets some of the reported £10million that Leeds have just spent on their new star striker Patrick Bamford.
Vieira was considered one of Leeds’ brightest young talents and was voted the club’s Young Player of the Year for the 2016-17 season.
